any members here running from spain to the uk ’ any companies hiring
Most of them have been laying off and then employing flip flop wearers for half the money
fair enough the flip flop and tracksuit and lidl plastic carrier bag brigade will work and team for small money’ but seem to get totally ■■■■■■ up once they get of the train in ashford as they tend not to speak a word of english cant read maps ’ how many times have u noticed johny foreigner on the hard shoulder waving a cmr or had a knock on the cab door while parked in a service area with a cmr in hand asking direction’s i though there was a demand for english speaking drivers
nothing much wrong with asking for directions wherever you are from

customers just don’t care about anything else except price
Vascoingles, that may be true of many, but you do have a core of
company’s , that require their loads to be delivered on time and also
not damaged, I agree with you that many firms do not care as long
as the rate is okay, but these firms are rethinking as delays or
damaged goods cost more in the end.,

The question was if any Spanish companies are hiring, well basically the answer is yes if you have a Bulgarian, Rumanian or whatever passport and will work for a 1000 or 1200 euros a month, not my fault if people don’t like the answer but that is what is going on down here, this is not a matter of opinion it is fact.
Vas that may be for trailer traffic but for liquids ,gas or silo
they are more choosy, suely even in Spain ,.and okay you it may
be that Spanish company’s have not started, but look else where
service does mean some thing as a firm which is dependant on
its goods getting there on time and damage free will take the
better option rather than lose a contract due to late or damaged goods
just to save a few bob,
Pete that does not mean a thing, the flip flop wearers are first choice at the moment where nearly everyone is struggling to keep going, look at Christian Salvesen who toook over Arniella which is now Norbert silo´s nearly all flip flop wearers or south Amercians
Vascoingles:
south Amercians
Bloody hell even them ? err where is south amercia ? is that near macedonia ?
Yes that is correct about South American drivers in Spain,Brazillian drivers work for the Portuguese companies(JFI lda,one of them,UK company in Humberside,)lot of drivers from Chile,Peru,Argentina,Columbia,Equador, all over.Times have changed from the clapped out Pegaso troner TXs with a fat Pedro at the wheel smoking cuban cigars and drinking Cola Cao,used to be Spanish drivers only in the 80
s and 90`s.
it makes me laugh that a lot of brits think they are worth paying more than what you call “taliban” drivers. My recollectin is that a large percentage were rubbish. From rolling brand new trucks over the side of mountains or two from the same firm crashing into each other near pampalona or the more silly, like i can’t ship out because i have to take the dog to the vet. Yes there were exceptions, but they were few and far between. From an operators point of view, i would of got shot of most of them at the first possible opportunity if i was still running to europe.
Ex-Haulier: you’ve just issued yourself a deatch certificate for this site
back to the topic: there’s Patinter, but that’s portuguese and with a bit of mixed references.
Transportes Cerezuela do a lot of UK, Sertrans, Frionogalte, Eurocold… and loads others though you have to find out yourself if they are hiring right now.
Jesus Martinez Ruiz is hiring “all the time” but struggles to keep his drivers happy.
If I could advise you, take ADR course, this, combined with your language (English), can open more opportunities for you (scandinavia, benelux)

gets a more than adequate supply of cheap labour from his own depot in either Czech Republic or Slowakia can’t remember which one exactly
Patinter, got 700 parked up !. Wow, how long can they stand that ?. Am i right in thinking they are mainly involved with car parts ?. Gefco a lot of it ?.
short answer to the question is yes
BUT
long answer is only if you will work for really low wages and live and cook in the truck
at the moment there are 700,000 romanians living in spain doing every job that the spanish won’t do working for less than anybody else. if you want to work here now either undercut them or find a company that still employs at equal payments. when my boss needs a driver i would love to post it on here but there is a waiting list i’m afraid
Jesus Martinez Ruiz, they got slovakians regs plates trucks
Also Painter got some czech reg plates trucks
Transportes Cerezuela and Sertrans got full of bulgarian drivers - see them a lots in UK
