No sorry in 22

Hi Mel welcome and good luck, I’m in pas de Calais region and hopefully might have got a start back on the road. Have been doing other stuff for 8 years so am looking forward to getting back in a truck, i believe it’s a MAN 07model 44 ton. Have driven one of these when they first came out only for a couple of hours though so dont remember much about them. That was on a bit of casual, Hope you enjoying France.

24, le Périgord me, but welcome to TN anyway Melanie.
I used to drive through the Allier on a frequent basis some years back by the light of the moon  and always appreciated the lack of autoroutes - and the reverse of good eating places.

Hi lulu, good news thenfor you on the job front… I love it here, obviously theres bad stuff as well as good but so far so good. I’ll be looking to move further south once i’ve finished the training but for the moment its cool here in the land that time forgot

Spardo, it’s not much different now lol were hardly overrun with autoroutes, theyre still fighting ten years on to get it 2x2 lane between Nevers and Moulins let alone upgrade it to autoroute

Thanks for the welcome and I know I’m gonna have loads of questions as I get going…

Mel

I will be down in and around Montlucon and Clermont with my new job a bit more. I am just updating my little black book, (resto routier book)

Well you’re going to be well served then Malc.
Just off J 11 A71 towards Monmarault and also Deux Chaises on the little road (probably the D949) that runs parallel to the N79 between there and Le Montet. A mate took me in there in the middle of the night the first time because they serve allnight full English breakfasts. Not exactly my cup of tea but he wolfed it down. :unamused:
Then of course a couple near Digoin on the same road and one beyond it towards Montceau les Mines and also another if you take the right fork towards Macon.
Nearly drove me mad not being able to stop at all of them :unamused: :smiling_imp: , but you have to do a bit of driving some time.
We used to run up overnight with cakes and biscuits to near Dijon and then load up with either mustard or cakes again from Besancon for the return the next night. I used to park up at a routier alongside the river at Monteplain on the N73. A very long park dug out of the rock so I could get a good days kip away from the day mangeurs nearest to the resto down the other end.

Can’t think why I wanted to come and live in France. :unamused: :sunglasses:

Hi Melanie, welcome to TruckNet UK.

I don’t know if there’s anyone in 03, but I’m sure that any advice will be just as good for 03 as it is for 22, 68 or 24 (Pas de Calais is 68, isn’t it ?).

Non, Pas de Calais is 62.
68 is Haut Rhin (Alsace)
Dave,14 Calvados.

Ahhhh,

I don’t go anywhere near 62 anymore, but do drive through 68 quite often.
I was going by (dodgy) memory, so that’s how I arrived at 68 :unamused:

I shouldnt worry about trying to remember them all Simon. Our planners send you a list of collections and you then have to work it out from 3 deliveries in the 57 and 2 in the 40.

Thank christ for Michelin maps :stuck_out_tongue:

My Michelin is in my wagon, hence having to rely on my dodgy memory and, unsurprisingly, getting it wrong.
