Got Sky Broadband? If so you can use the Cloud wifi network if you can park near a hotspot.

Got broadband from BT? You can use FON hotspots.
A couple of issues here… tablets such as the galaxy tab 2 and pretty much any tablet from now on will not have a sim card slot and will be WiFi only. I bought a mobile WiFi for 15 quid a month only to realise that I can use my Samsung galaxy tab 2 through my Samsung galaxy 3 phone. Ah well. At least now I can connect 4 devices to the net at once through the WiFi … not that I will need to

iphone 5 allows you to connect ur laptop or tablet to it using wifi off the phone and i think the iphone 4 allows this aswellbut you have to pay your network for the privelidge
Only the same as what I would pay to use the phone for the same data ?
I have unlimited data and never pay anything in any case.
Some National Express coaches have wifi on board. Only useful if you can keep up with one though.
I have a 3 contract with unlimited internet, and use my phone as the hotspot
But watching anything in i player or ant tv live is a nightmare, as it keeps stopping
But it will play youtube ok,

it depends on the network, 3 allow tethering on the one plan, my unlimited data t-mobile contract doesn’t allow tethering, although i’ve no idea if anyone has been busted for it.
Today I’m getting a samsung galaxy note 2 phone on three “the one plan”. 5.5" screen with unlimited internet and tethering for £36 a month. The phone is huge but doesn’t bother me as it sits on the dash most of the time. When I am in the cab I will use it as a hotspot for the laptop.
I have both an iPhone 4s with orange, with tethering enabled, and an iPad 3 with three. Both off these on 3G will run fast enough to watch video from the likes of YouTube and Iplayer providing you’ve got a decent 3G signal.
When talking about wifi there are more and more free hotspots appearing in various stores and also depending on who you have your home broadband with there is often a deal to use certain nationwide hotspots.
It’s definitely worth keeping your data usage in check because streaming video will munch through any allowance at an alarming rate.
At the moment the three network seem to offer the best deals data allowance wise and my iPad comes with a 15g allowance. This allows me to do pretty much whatever I want with it for the month but I suspect that if i spent the most evenings catching up on Iplayer and such likes it would soon eat through the allowance.
Another point to bear in mind is that most of these portable wifi devices are only 3G transmitters. Although a great of kit if you’ve a wifi only tablet they are still only as ood as the available 3G signal.
Cheers
