Anyone else running today with no dcpc?

Iam on less than the minimum wage too ,even less than those who you are spying on from behind your username .

NEWSFLASH

VOSA drivers have been re-classified as “professional drivers” as they are at the wheels of their vehicles - moving or not - all day.
As professional drivers, they too are now required to carry a blue card and have done 35 hours DCPC training.
This, alas, was not done in time for the deadline just passed, because the government would not authorise the use of overtime to get the training done. Police Community Support Officers were not permitted to step in and cover normal policing duties, thus freeing up VOSA officials for training schedules either.
PCSO’s lack a warrant card. VOSA’s lack a blue card.
Thus, the streets are currently bereft of such officers for the time being.

I should have one more done by now but the problem I have is conjuring up the will to go and sit in that room for another 7 hours on my day off and have to pay for the joy of it too. I wouldn’t mind if it was something different but it’s just the exact same thing all over again. And to be honest I’m not really bothered if I lose my job over it.

To be honest if YOU are paying for it and you are doing the SAME course you only have YOURSELF to blame for being bored.

There are interesting courses available according to lots of people on here.

Second that besides I hate monkeys that smoke ffs…

In my opinion, and like someone else has said it’s ok till you are in a accident and because you don’t have your dcpc/cpc the insurance company will not pay out because your not insured because you don’t have it, is it really worth it, i think insurance companies on renewal will as for proof on dcpc/cpc.

Did anyone really expect DVSA to go out in force and stop every lorry they see, presumably they’ll check DQCs at the usual road-side checks that’s all.

We don’t see people posting on here everyday that they’ve been stopped and had their records checked by DVSA, and I doubt that’s going to change just because of the DCPC.

Did not mean to offend, Good Luck :sunglasses: but why should most people do the cpc and some just don’t care and make there own rules ■■

Thought company would check if you got card? Do they get fined also?

CPC is a directive and not law … yet … well i think i am right :unamused:

I don’t know about getting fined, but I’m sure it will go against employers on the OCRS if drivers are stopped and found to not have the required training hours completed.

Sorry but you’re wrong on two counts.

  1. The Driver CPC is a UK regulation that was implemented because of an EU directive.

  2. You’re wrong to think that you’re right .

I was nearly right

so good to see so many drivers who have now paid out and attented these courses can now all agree on drivers hours and the like ?

i think it speaks for itself that its just the same as its always been even after training drivers still have different ideas and opinions on how it all works lol

I think there should be a DCPC module on how to operate the truck’s OBC. I think it would be quite popular with the “I’ve been driving 40 [zb] years, there’s nothing you can tell me about this job!” brigade. :bulb:

I find the “I’ve been driving 40 [zb] years” brigade learn from the Digi Tacho simulator.

It took the trainer 1 hour to get 3 people to do a simple manual entry, whilst muttering “Just keep pressing OK” :unamused: :unamused:

probably give it a couple of weeks before they pounce

Never happened on the buses and that was up last year

Thats because VOSA know the bus companies were putting thier drivers through the CPC.

They have bedn in force round london but always are. All the tipper boys i know have cards as we know we are prime targets anyway. Funny enough im on a course next weekend for my 2019 cpc.
