thanks again slaphead for your info, apprecate it mate, i have bein honest with the companys and i wouldnt lie, i understand where your coming from, if i lie and they ask me somthing or ask me to do somthing and i havent a clue then id be in ■■■■ , wouldnt do it anyway, ive just bein truthful, as for montgomery, i went to that haulage company they are at the top of them m2 motorway here in belfast, found it ok, but guy at reception told me that this part of the company i was in was for class 1 lorrys and give directions to the other part of the company for the class 2 lorrys which was on a diffrent site altogether, diffrent road etc, i lost were he told me to go, so went home and googled the map and it was to far from were i live, i went to montgomery too because the girl in the agency said that they train people up, as for mc burney they are in ballyamena, thats miles away from me also, and mc culla is not far from me, know there in lisburn somwhere, but remember i only have my class 2, but will be going on to get class 1, thats my next goal, thanks slap head
I worked for Driver Hire (Coventry) for about three months driving 7.5T and vans. They were the only agency that gave me a chance as a recently passed class 2 driver. They got me in work almost straightaway, some weeks I was working four days in some nice contracts. One was a double manned 7.5T delivering AGA cookers, about five drops a day
There was one woman who worked for them who told a couple of lies about jobs which then came back to bite her in the ■■■. Quite common with agencies. The pay was crap though, £6.25 for vans and 7.5T, O/T was £8. Class 2 was £8 and weekend work was the same rate as a weekday, pretty poor

A lot of blokes are finding that you can drive a Ford Transit or Merc. Sprinter for the same money as a guy in an artic. gets.
This is a sorry state of affairs but true. One of my mates was driving class one for Stobarts, I drive a 3.5T Mercedes van and I’m on more than him. I think it’s an insult. He was making good money but only because he was working 60-70 hours a week and some weekend work. He’s left now

Ive been with Driver Hire since i made my career change in June this year. Ive got my Class 2 licence, it was slow the first couple of weeks but if you do a good job and take all the work they offer you’ll soon build up a good reputation and companys tend to ask for you back.
As dar said they franchised so each one is different. After the summer the work has dried up abit as most drivers have taken their holidays so ive been struggling getting 2-3 days work a week which is not enough to cover bills. However starting tomorrow ive got 2 and a half weeks work with a client that asked for me.
When i signed up they said we pay between £7- 10 phr for class 2 work. Every job ive done with them has been £7 which im abit peeved about.
The £10 carrot on a stick will be class 2 O/T I bet
thanks dakota for the info, apprecate it mate
