Did you get in via the online application ? What was the selection process like ?

I applied speculatively online last christmas, got a call a month or two ago to say there were some vacancies and would i be still interested in an interview/assessment, so i called across had a 25 question tacho/highway code test, then a 30 minute drive which i passed, then a 15 minute face to face interview with the ops manager to ask why i wanted to work there and outline the wages etc. Got a call a couple of days later and offered the job.

I live 1 hour from sherburn , 4am starts (so out of bed at 2.30 - 3am ) up to max hours, so potentially a 17 hour day including the commuting, Sun -Thur shift, so you loose your weekend effectively , new starters are on £7.20 ph for the first 12 months £7.75 there after. When work goes slack he said you get sent to Goole to do store deliveries .

Correct, the job i start on tuesday is driving a mere puddlejumper, trailer Hiab combo, covering and 8 wheel clamshell grab truck, mon- friday 7-5pm, with odd early starts and late finishes (i can live with that ) no weekend working ,no bank holiday working, the starting wage is more than stobarts 12month rate, after a successful 6 month trial i get a pay rise and its only 20 mins up the road. There are decent paying jobs out there, but not in general haulage. !!

Apparently RB pay is crap so I’ve heard in the drivers room… Plenty of work down here in Kent/Essex if you want to move…
