Hi guys
New to this site and i,m thinking about do the test 1 & 2 but wanted to get a bit of feedback on whether people felt my location was good to be able to have a chance of getting work once test passed seems to be alot of transport companies local to me Spalding , Wisbech , Kings lynn e.t.c. If i was to pass i would be willing to do a crap job to get the experience to get where i want to go as would like to do tramping work as kids now grown up i,m 44 now so would my age go in my favour or against me, all my past jobs have involved alot of driveing 80k a year so know the uk quite well not done much euro driveing only down to the costas for hols. This is a big thing for me as it will eat all our savings so it is a real gamble and if it goes wrong i,ll be in th s…t big time so any advice would be very welcome thanks all.
Give Richard or Lorraine Long a call, they do euro and uk for agri machines and combines and irrigation equipment and most are wide loads.
In most cases previous driving experience under a different category counts for nothing
Employers/agencies tend to go on how long you have held the category you wish to use
That said, there are employers out there that will give a newbie a break
I would go around your local employers etc and see what they say before spending unless you are maybe willing to get the licences and put using them on hold for a while …

Good luck with your job hunt, but I would be surprised if a company doing machinery/wide loads would take on a newly qualified driver, however if you don’t ask you won’t know

To locate firms in your area try the vosa website O licence applications list where addresses are on line to contact them.
There are a few Turners depots up that way.
