What we’re meant to do if our vehicle, despite clearly reversed upto a goods in door, clearly unloading, is sticking out into the road? No the unloading space on the road is not suitable as a 1t pallet is not easy to push uphill or up a kerb. Thankfully, the warden was a rare one who saw sense and said to us " I’ll come back in an hour…"
And what if 20minutes isn’t long enough to unload? Do we go off and come back in 3 hours on the off chance we might get to park there again?
Thankfully, another warden saw sense also and said “I wont start timing until I come back,” but there must be many cardigan wearing stamp collectors who wouldn’t use discretion?
There’s not much you can do in that situation except hope some jobs worth penas who was bullied at school isn’t walking past with his handheld rip off machine.
Parking tickets are the Registered Keepers problem anyway.
Councils will not chase drivers and companies are not permitted to make unauthorised deductions from wages.
I know it is something to avoid at all costs, but some drops are on double yellows and tickets can not be avoided

Not for us, we’re expected to pay our own but they use discretion.

In that case don’t park there, if they want to you to unload, they should provide adequate facilities for doing it.
Trouble with traffic wardens is they usually have targets to achieve or they get into bother, this is where common sense goes out the window.
We have a few drops which are in areas of high warden activity and it is cheaper for the company to pay any tickets than to send 2 vehicles. Should you get a ticket for parking in an avoidable position then you get the joy of paying it.
Last summer we had a big job at footlocker on Oxford street so I ended up going every other day. The only viable place to unload was a bus stop directly outside the door. If I managed to get unloaded for 8am I’d usually miss the warden but anytime after he’d be waiting for me without fail. He made some money out of us those two months
God I hated that job lol, if it wasn’t the smug warden slapping a ticket on my windscreen it was the ■■■■■■ bus drivers showing me the coffee beans
