Monday morning we are off to Devon (car, not truck). she who must be obeyed wants to be on the road at 7.30. we are leaving from Ashby de la zouch, which means there’s a fair chance we are gonna get stuck at brum. don’t fancy the m1 much cos its putting too many miles on. we could cut along the a5 and pick up the motorway from there?
do any of you guys have any ideas? doesn’t matter about weight restrictions etc.
I would just do the 42 to the M5 from there. Won’t be to bad. It’ll be well after 8 by the time you get down to the traffic parts so should be on the back of it
Hey. Im from Ashby, leaving there at 7.30 will more than likely cause you probs on the M42 Tamworth onwards. Maybe you could persuade her to go a tad earlyer cos the M42/M5 is you’re most convenient route. Or you could go down the A38 to Brum hop on the M6 and then down the M5 but then you dont know how the M6 roadworks will be. Hard choice my friend
lol thanx folks for the ideas, the scenic way sounds favourite, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that, I used to do swindon regular and that was the route I used. hmmm, east mids to Exeter? I am liking that idea, wonder what she’ll say if I offer to meet her down there?
