Next year…
I wanted to actually get out and do something for my birthday celebration instead having one extra sherry in the workies club and treating myself to a £2 lottery scratcher.
So, I’m thinking about one of those driving experiences. You know, a few laps of the track in a Porsche, Lambo or whatever. I’m particularly interested in the Nissan GTR. I’ve looked around the t’interweb and Youtube and everything I’ve come across involves someone in the passenger seat telling you to aim for this cone, that cone at 30 mph.
Does anyone have any experience of ‘experience’ days? Is there anywhere you can really give it the beans?
whack the ponies arse…pedal to the metal…stand on the loud one…etc etc etc
A mate of a mate done it and didn’t get much more than 30 minutes or so and it cost a couple of hundred, Mrs BB looked into it for my 50 th last year and came up with the conclusion of its a lot of money for a short lived bit of enjoyment, hire a prossy for a few hours instead !!
As above, the prossie bit is optional though of course, the wife got me one for my 30th (driving experience) and although it was ok it’s very short lived your in the car for less than 5 mins maybe even 3,I did mine in a Audi R8 not long after they had come out.
If you do decide to go for it have a look on Groupon & wowcher as they always have them in there for £60-80,also whilst you are there you can pay to go in other cars too but I didn’t bother given they wanted £30 for 2 laps,oh and also during your experience you’re right you will have someone in with you and also you will be limited to 3rd gear max and 80mph max which was also a let down given that if I wanted to “race” around at 80mph I could of done so in my Astra for free!
Saying that though,it’s something most of us will only do once or never unless those numbers come up so if you really fancy it why not!
how bout a helicopter ride, ask the pilot to scare you crapless, and hope he is like the stig with a bit of devilment,or hope he is a vietnam vet so you can shout ." INCOMING" at him and see if he has a flashback…that would appeal to me more than a poodle about in a car…come over here and go out with a joy rider,or get a lift when the limiters are off,and everyones coming off the sunday night boat…97 miles shaking the bushes on the 75 with the donegal mafia.that might impress you more than a poofy track car. its just not the same on the 41/55…
