I spotted this last night in Johnnie Bridge services…
Now when I went to school a Meter was what my dad used to stick a magnet on to slow it down…
You’re quite right sir, a meter is what you have in a cupboard to measure the amount of gas you are consuming in your property.
A Metre is the standard measurement of length under the metric system.

My pet hate! (Well, one of them anyway…)
My f-i-l used to have a sign business, and the amount of signs that used to go out with spelling mistakes was embarrassing - especially when the customer had signed off the proof without noticing it as well. He did a whole load of signs for some posh developer stating ‘Land aquired for…’.

Just a mistake I’m afraid, and unfortunately as the curtains are inked we cannot change them. On the plus side it will make our American visitors feel at home as this is the US spelling for metres!
