Aye i can remember loading reels of paper off sammie in the 70s when i worked for snaylams of bolton.
I loaded coils and wood pulp quite regular out of Dagenham dock in the early '70’s when I worked for the Wild Group.
It was still known as Sammy Williams when it was renamed London and Coastal Oil Wharves before TDG spoiled things
Yes I remember SamuelWilliams also rember London Coastal loaded there a few time when i worked AT Stevens & A E Evans
Been in Sammy Williams many a time when I worked for A.E.Evans.Also London and Coastal Oil Wharves at Canvey.
I used to load reels of paper for Glasgow from Sammy Williams. I also seem to remember they tried putting other engines into Scania 110’s, or was it 111’s? The engines were ■■■■■■■ and Roll’s Royce.
Chris, maybe I used to fall over you in places and never knew it■■?

Aye,we’ve probably tripped up over each other somewhere Alex but not at SWTT as you were on flats and I was on tanks.
I’m sure there’s a post on here about SW putting different engines in Scanias.
I can’t recall ever getting messed about in SWTT and I went in there several times in the 70s. I do remember having my union card checked regularly though.
