Any drivers in Essex area need a lackey?

Hi fellas,
I’m new to all things truck driving (apart from driving a fire engine lol)got my C+E course booked for feb and can’t wait. My aim after that is to do a bit of time to get some experience (couple of years) then hopefully emigrate to Canada as a truck driver.
It all seems like a mammoth task and all totally new to me and to be honest I feel like a duck out of water lol
I don’t suppose any drivers who work in the Essex /cambridge Area would consider letting me ride shotgun on a few runs just so I can learn a bit of practical trucking from someone experienced before I start ? I’m willing to do some graft and help out and don’t expect to get paid or anything. Just figured a head start may help.

Cheers guys

You will be able to drive on some of your days off when you pass agency will give you some work so that will help do you still work 4 on 4 off  if so you will have your rota for a while also hols & dont forget your 12 days every 6 weeks or so

I belive when you get to Canada you will have to take there test but check here

Why not stay in the fire brigade & transfer to Canada that way or stay till you have done 30 years or reach 55 with a nice pension & a lump sum when you leave

Welcome to the mad house

What all this fella stuff

Thanks for the info animal

Wish I could transfer with the fire service but they don’t accept our qualifications over the pond, I’d have to emigrate on a trade then try and get in just like anyone else when I’m over there. To be fair that is what I intend to do , trucking is to get me over there but I’ve got a feeling I will enjoy it.

Big difference between working on a pump and driving an artic…

Good idea if it’s to get you over the water but you’d miss the job far too much to stick with the truck driving (Been there, got the bug so I know what it’s like to leave the job)

Mind you, you could try getting in a volunteer FD over there?
