Any drivers answer why were treated so bad?

It’s not the “pushing back” that I suspect is the problem in your case Winseer, more the way you do it. Anyone with a spine and self respect pushes back in this job constantly but never seem to encounter the tales of woe that you apparently do.

You’re too old I suspect to learn people skills, which is unfortunate as I suspect that in your case they are severely lacking. You may well be a paragon of good manners but until you know how to deep down interact with folks you’ll always be the outsider. You may well be happy with that, and why not? But to bleat on constantly about how unfair life is to you in particular is beyond the pale. Especially when it is all of your own making.

I constantly ■■■■■, moan and criticise the office staff to their face, but I do it in a manner that comes across as constructive. Of course I want to cut their eyes out with a pen knife but I am savvy enough to realise that charming people whilst spitting venom has a more beneficial effect.

I honestly do not know the answer to your woes, but politely suggest that a good long look in the mirror may just help. Remember, nobody owes you anything, go out and take what you deserve.

The way I vent my spleen on here, is quite different to the way I try and hide away on the shop floor.

As I’ve said previously, I’m happy when I’m out all the time, interacting with no one but the solitude of my cab on the motorways, with my MP3 tracks playing, as there’s rarely anything worth listening to on the radio these days…

The last thing I want is to be sent on loads of “domestic” short trips where I have to interact with loads of people who are clearly irritated with life enough, without me rubbing them up the wrong way on top.

If I’m salaried, I’ll find people rubbing me up the wrong way, telling me it’ll be all day to get tipped, you’ll have to work your break, and other actual illegal activities I’m expected to swallow to get by.
If I’m paid by the hour however, I’ll be sure and safe about what I’m doing, only getting me into trouble if I then cannot do the job as quickly as a rush-rush 20 year old who is in a rather odd hurry for a full timer salaried worker over my hourly paid “the job takes as long as it takes” outlook.

Other than that, there shouldn’t be any reasons to be irritated BY me as opposed to anyone else.
I notice at RDCs of late - there seems to be signs up now at the booking in desk “Verbal Abuse - will not be tolerated”, when I can’t ever remember seeing any rants/arguments/flare-ups taking place there in the past…
No doubt a recent “Union Addition” to give the Reps something else to get someone one day “banned from site” about…
Just not ME this time, as I duck and dive at work, contrary to popular belief…
The worst I can be compared to, is possible Reg Hollis in “The Bill”, except I recall that HE is the Union Rep, whilst I will merely argue the toss with same…

I’ve seen previous threads from years ago which have developed into lengthy arguments where other members have tried to educate and advise him, but clearly he has chosen to ignore it and carries on with the same confrontational attitude everywhere and is rapidly running out of places where he is permitted through the gate. And who can blame them? He’s worse than a woman for being high maintenance. He claims his online persona is nothing like his real life one, yet posts several examples of dialogues he’s had with the office staff which exactly match the angry bile he writes on here .

Nothing justifies fitting someone up with pulling a trailer off of a bay that they know they were in the process of dropping there.
Just a bit surprised that any old school driver would trust traffic lights regardless or care less if they’d opened and started tipping a trailer before it was uncoupled.

Strange isn’t it, he continually finds himself being caught up in “incidents” at places he is working at and subsequently gets shown the door. Then always comes on here protesting his innocence and that he was in no way at fault, nor rubbed the wrong people up the wrong way despite having a clean licence and in his words “an A+ microlise score”. Yet this never ever happens to anyone else.

I have no idea what you are talking about here, that highlighted bit above - was not originally posted by me.
I won’t say boo to a goose, and then one day I get accused of something, because some full timer has grassed me up, probably because I’ve offended their lefty principles, and even when I’ve protested “Hang on, you can’t accuse me of doing that last Friday, as I wasn’t in FFS!” I got duly punished for “answering back”…

No one abuses their power like an “acting manager”, whom I see as “failed drivers, booted upstairs” - because that’s what they really come down to: To chicken to take a redundancy package, and lickcock enough to take any extension of their “Career” at established firm they’ve worked at, but couldn’t bear to be let go by… “former Poachers-■■■-Gamekeepers” indeed!
I’ve been pushed about by such people that have driven their trucks through fences, Derv Islands, crashed out on the road, dropped trailers on roundabouts, and even let their combinations burn down because they failed to pay attention to that rubbing axle, smoke coming out of the back, etc.
I snipe at people for being “Hypocrites”, they find a political way to get rid of me out of spite, abusing their own rules to achieve such.

I guess the war will always continue, because even outside a firm for life, there will be continuing opportunities for them to step on my toes, and me on theirs…

No, RDCs that have union presence in them. That’s pretty much ALL the Supermarket RDCs for example…

Unions are there to protect members from their own wrong doing. They’ll do this by trying to deflect blame for their member’s own misdeeds onto the very outsider that tried to point the finger at them, or even happened to be in an opportunistic place where they could be easily blamed for something the “outsider” was totally innocent of.

Nope, not talking about myself here - but I’ve seen people sacked and escorted off the premises for something I KNOW they didn’t do - because I saw someone else bloody well do it, but my own testmimony that might have saved hapless third party “didn’t count” - because I’m an outsider “to be ignored, except when in trouble in my own right”.

The usual type of rant from myself that follows might be:

“Hey, that guy you think backed into that trailer - it wasn’t Fred Bloggs you’re currently frogmarching out the door, it was Union Rep Joe Smith, who’s conveniently taking an impromptu day off today… Check out the camera footage on that part of the yard if you don’t believe me! What do ya mean it’s “missing”, deleted by someone with access to computers, that ordinary drivers don’t have access to? I wonder who THAT could have been? What doya mean I’m in trouble for making false accusations? You didn’t get my back up over this, until you tried getting rid of that poor innocent guy over a complete fabrication! Look at him, he’s in tears, cannot believe he’s lost his job over someone else’s false witness testimony… How was I supposed to act witnessing this injustice? “Oh well never mind, Glad it was some other innocent, rather than me?” FFS you people are the pits! If you think I’m the one breaking the law here, then bloody well call the police, and we’ll see what stands up in court shall we?”

“Injustice” - really gets my back up, and I find it very hard to keep silent.
If that makes me “Troublemaker” or “Wave Maker” - then so be it.
I’ve been told many times that “My passions will be my undoing” so spare me the lectures on how I should be this “Oh well never mind” character at all times, please.

If these shenanigans never happened right in my face - I wouldn’t be anything but a driver quietly working in the background - wouldn’t I?
Office politics - be damned!

I don’t get into trouble when I drive out the yard first thing, and only get back to the yard in time to chuck my keys in, and go home.
Hopefully, the job I’ve got now will keep me on that straight-and-narrow then. As far as I know, I’ve yet to rub anyone up the wrong way at this partciular workplace, and I try not to say too much to boot when spoken to.

I’d find it hard to believe that you’ve all had a real cushy year to date, all upside, and no downsides for anything, never see anything going wrong for anyone, no mishaps, all the work you can eat, automatic pay rises, etc etc.

The thing is, if you wrangle him right, you’ll probably find he does follow the rules which he preaches. The habitual rule-breaker usually doesn’t waste any mental effort on learning the details of the rules he flouts.

And to accuse someone of lawbreaking is usually itself a show of superiority. A more moderate or respectful interaction, proportionate to any issue, would likely avoid embarrassment.
