Any double deck drivers here ie pallet network

LIBERTY_GUY:
Not sure which double decker I liked most.

  1. The crispy chocolate bar that lingered in your mouth 30 minutes later
  2. The confusing children’s tv program from the 1970’s, with the catchy theme tune.

Peter Firth was already showing signs of being sterotyped into a guy capable of running an underground of backsteet shenanigans…

You can get a lick on with d/d when fully loaded ,I’ve never seen so many over speeds ,every hill you go down you get one

Underpowered, and overweight in terms of “centre of gravity” if not overall tare.

I don’t much like palletwork. It ain’t safe, and the money is crap when you look at the hours of boredom involved, no proper break, rushed about, and of course that damned tip queue that last for hours and hours just moving enough so you can’t just get your head down whilst waiting…

I’ve only driven into Brum Airport & Burton (Palletforce) Lichfiend (palletways) and Watford Gap (Fortec).

The latter is slightly better than the others, as it’s not quite as far to go for me, and therefore can turn into a reasonable length shift.
Their safety system with the blue police lights seems to work well too. It involves you sitting still for longer at a time, rather than advance a few inches per minute, which of course eats up your driving hours.

Mine is not a curtainsider, it’s the lifting deck type, so back on a bay & off to canteen.

When it’s full you can belt down the M45 with a wiggle on the steering so you get it rockin, saves a lot of tyre wear, as you only run on 3 at a time & keep the other 9 off the ground
