ANY COMPANY RECRUITING????

Hi guys, do u know of any companies recruiting for euro work■■? Have had class 1 for 12 years, but no euro exp. Thanks for your help fellas.

S&K must be relatively close to you, I think they’re in Barry.
I dunno if they’re recruiting at the mo’, but they have to be worth a try.

I see their wagons all over the place in Germany and I know they used to do a lot to Italy, I think they still do.
You’ll probably be away for 2 weeks (or more) at a time, so any commuting shouldn’t be too onerous.

Come on WBIS, “it’s only that far on the map” (said holding finger& thumb half an inch apart)

Ross.

I was thinking same thing. Saying North Wales is close to south is like saying Londons only down road from Manchester. It’s probably quicker.

I’d say your bet bet in north Wales would be Ireland. BUT, you’d be lucky to get any Euro work at moment with no exp.

A very good friend of mine is on s&k. he lives in north wales and gets home every 3 or 4 weeks. money not great either (performance related bonus)

plenty of times been mentioned that s&k stands for skint and knackered (speaking as a barry born and bred that is)

as for the original question north wales is on route for the ferries so you would think there would be plenty of work maybe with gwynedd shipping or some of the others in anglesey?
the irish will take on without experience just don’t expect the pay to be great as there is plenty of competition from other nationalities for irish work

Dont want to open a can of worms as i know a lot has been said on this forum about VDB… but are they still looking■■?

Exactly my point, although that must be a pretty small scale map you’ve got there.

I took a full load of mo’bike tyres to Cambrian Tyres in Anglesey once WBIS. It only took one day from Dover to there, so it can’t be that far :grimacing:

I don’t go South of Manchester with this company, so there’s no way I’m spending good money on a map I won’t use

I can’t say for sure if they’re still recruiting but it’s definitely worth making an enquiry. I’d recommend the job to anyone looking for European work.

There’s been a lot of “passionate” talk about Van Den Bosch, I gave up reading it because there was rubbish being talked on nearly all sides of the arguments. Personally, I think it’s a good job - but things are done quite differently out in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe for that matter and so the job may not suit everyone. I’ve been there since July, never driven HGV’s in Europe before then and although the training was good, it is a sink-or-swim situation. Most swim I think, and the job’s quite good fun once you get the hang of it. Again, it’s not for everyone, and the only way you can tell is to give it a go really - and not whinge too much if it doesn’t work out! (ahem). For me, I love the work, but personal circumstances are making things more difficult for me at the mo so my future is uncertain, I know I’ll miss it if I were to leave.

But it does depend on where you live in the UK due to the flights. There might be a possibility that you could drive though if you’re up for it. I’m currently on the old norfolkline to Dunkerque on my way to work, but I live under 2 hours from Dover and then it’s another 3 hours or so to Erp.

Thanks mate, will defo look in2 it. Can you tell me roughly what the money is, there have been so many diff figures knocking about, wud be good to know from someone with first hand knowlage, Thanks again…
