Any clever people about?
I’m sure there are, but not on this forum, specially this time of day/year.
I’d be draining the separator/filter into a container that you can check for moisture, priming then crack on.
Had similar happen on 18t daf lf few years back.
All the fella did was unscrew the fuel filter located under sidebars n let it drain out then screwed filter back on and it solved the problem
Thanks very much. I’ll just get trucking and hope all goes ok. I took the cap off the fuel filter but fuel came out so replaced it quickly. Wish it came with a Haynes manual I’d get on much better then…!
I aint a mechanic by any stretch, but did the Cummins not have some kind of bleed drain on it that you turned and slackened off, and then pumped the water out of fuel filter, then re.tightened?
Or have I just made that up?
They did on the XF. It was a large clear plastic container mounted on the back of the cab by the steps which had a black plastic valve and a big plastic button on it. Loosen the valve, pump the button a few times and retighten. If there is one on the LF it would be near the fuel tank.
If you use Fleetguard filters one of the filters has the moisture probe in its base and a plastic drain.Just unplug the probe and unscrew the drain a couple of turns.
