Any bikers on Trucknet?

No bike at the moment, not had one for 5 years now. :frowning:

A good job really as im unable to control myself and cannot help but thrash the arse off of anything i ride. My last bike was a fazer 600, i just could’nt ride it within the law, forever finding myself racing other bikes from red light to red light, and as a rule tearing about like a nutter. The beligerent, aggressive biker. :grimacing:

I’ve been lucky in my many accidents and have always limped away ok. :sunglasses:

Licence losers for sure and deffo life losers. But if i ever end up single again, a bike will be the first thing i buy.

@B1 GGK & DYMM, I only read TMX now and again so this years round at Assen is a new one on me. I suppose if they can run the Dakar in South America they can run British Superbikes in Holland…

Then again I didn’t realise Brands and Cadwell had such an issue with AK toting bandits and terrorists. I really must pay more attention.

BTW has anyone been to the ‘Superbiker’ event at Mettet?

W

Never been, but heard great reports about it. AK 47’s? The organisors have a new weapon to keep the teams in order?

Far from it to be me to accuse the ACU* or a race promotor of banditry! Hahahaha

(*other governing bodies are available)

Mettet is a cracking weekend. Stefan Everts, Joel Smets and Troy Corser on the same grid? Awesome

There is always a good number of British mentalists who enter, some of which even make it through the heats to the final. Not bad for ‘back of the van’ racers.

The whole thing is as cheap as chips too…

Used to have trials bike, & my brothers road bikes ,
Honda XL 185…‘the little one’, that was mine…I was only young then
but loved taking it over fields & tracks & over & round the quarry
Kawasaki 250, Honda Superdream 250, & Triumph bonny 750 were my brothers bikes, but times changed as did personal curcumstances where a car became more practical, & money being tight, could keep all going, so sadley one by one bikes went :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

No, BSB is going to Assen this year. Race director can’t read a map and thinks 16ft trailers with living accom will be fine…

That could alter the points at the end of the season. Bonus points for those with a 4.0m trailer. I know Scassa & Lowry will be there because Padgetts transporter will go under the bridges

To be fair though, most of the main teams do go testing in Europe and have equipment to match.

Although it does raise another question of how an Italian and a Japanese rider come to ride in the British Super Bikes  My other foreign BSB hero was Gregorio Lavilla

A good friend of ours from Derby was killed at Mettet. This is Roger Dixon and Paul Appelby (local heros)

The old man and his brother after winning the Daily Dispatch Trophy in 1952, later to come third in the IOM TT.
The bike is a 1933 Manx Norton with home made sidecar, just about visible, and is still unregistered and with our family.

Me on it about 30 years ago at a Vintage Hill climb, which we won.

Sorry to hear about your mate Wheel Nut.

The Supermoto event only uses part of the track near the Garage corner and the Grandstand so probably less leathal than the full track (you wouldn’t think so if you saw the concrete jumps).

I even stopped at that garage in my tanker once.

I might have a laugh at the ACUs expense (who wouldn’t?) but believe me mate, I know if it wasn’t for folks like yourself none of us would go racing.

I used to think the same, especially about the TT entourage, like a private gentlemans club. At the moment I am doing my 2012 clerk of the course course.

I was, and suppose still am a biker, I dont have any time these days working away all week and family stuff at the weekends, but thats life. I still follow the racing and I still have my trusty old Honda SP-1 in the garage, its on SORN and al tucked up under sheets waiting to be put back on the road. It might be waiting a long time as I am too fat for my leathers now. I sold my other bike last year, I had a GSXR1000K6. Had it since 2007 but it was just sat in the garage never getting used and loosing money, and it still only had 3600miles on the clock when it went. The old SP has stopped loosing money now and should start to go up in value so it can stay.

Let me do you a favour and relieve you of the poor SP1

Cant part with it, its the only thing I own thats not loosing money
