i’m tipping in Antwerp next week.
how seriously do they take the holiday on monday?
is it like italy and spain, when everything shuts?
or is it like the uk? where it’s prety optional.
I don’t remember ever having a Bank Holiday off when I lived and worked there. I think they have less public holidays than anywhere else in the EU.
Funny though,my old boss in Gent told me, there is actually a driving ban on Sundays in Belgium and Holland but it isn’t worth their while to enforce it.
I wonder if that is true?

There is a driving ban for national lorry traffic, but international traffic is permitted to run.
Phil, there were many places open when I worked in Belgium, the only people who seemed to have a day off were our office staff and Belgian drivers
sounds like it’s worth taking a chance then. i’ll run down sunday to tip monday morning.
where are you tipping Antwerp

I am agreeing with Neil on this.
Belgium certainly have no bans and Holland do not enforce their National ban except to ease congestion. The IRU site says there are no restrictions for International traffic
I was just curious.
If any of you knew my old boss, Michel Martens, You would know that he would never endorse any driving ban, whether he had to or not.
What holiday is it anyhow? I thought Whitsun had gone?
