Can anyone tell me where I can purchase and how much they are, for these so called special " anti slip mats " from that are now required for Germany and Belgium ?
I am off again in four weeks with the humanitarian aid to Kosovo and we only go twice a year so the added expense of buying these mats just for 2 days driving twice a year seems a waste of time, but after reading posts on here about how stringent they are becoming, we cant take the chance of getting a fine and still having to buy them.
Do they have to be of a certain standard? or would it be possible just to get some cheap rubber door mats and put one under each corner of the pallets. We have two trailers going so its double the expense and one that as a charity could well do without, as we now have to replace the two units and probably the trailers before the end of the year.
Any thoughts suggestions or ideas would be greatfully appreaciated.
I would get some cheap rubber backed carpet tiles and cut them into strips, you would probably get 6 out of one tile. I have thrown dozens of them in the skip as you end up with nowhere to keep them in the lorry.
With every load of paper reels we used about 30 or 40 of these little black squares provided by the paper mills. I don’t think there is a standard or a specification for them, even in Germany.
Blimey - contact me we have these by the ton - made of old car tyres and shipped in by the ton from germany to stop wooden pallets slipping on a wooden floor
i can ship these to you by the ton
cheers
Steve
Malcolm thanks for the link, now I at least have an idea what they look like. I only get over there these days with the aid convoys so a bit out of touch with current rules and regs.

The mats in question are required to meet certain standards and
are made in various sizes and widths have a look at the link below MATS-LINK
I reckon the Bundes Police Cheif has invested heavily in this anti-slip matting production. So the word has been passed down the line to his front line troops, “make sure there is lots of anti-slip matting down, I want a good return on my investment”
