Unloaded in Blainville sur Mer on Wednesday afternoon, and,as I was just about out of time I decided to park in a nice shady spot for the night, although a few hours after these pics were taken it chucked it down, all night and all the next day.
Anyway,I digress.Parked in a field/yard/back garden next to me were these old things rusting away…
So,I haven’t got a clue as to what they are or how old, though the first one looks like it could be a Berliet.
But,they are both right hand drive
So,if you know the answer,on a post card please, and don’t forget to include your credit card details
Is it a Unipower or simaler forestry tractor, as one photo shows the front wheels out of align to rear, so was it artic steer( bend in middle) and narrow bonnet to where the wheels where going, the last photo shows a beefed up radiator gaurd, as you would expect in forestry work, seen something like this at vintage steam rallys etc.
Forestry work sounds possible, but around this area they use all sorts of weird and wonderful things to drive out into the sea to collect shellfish etc. so I reckon maybe that’s what they’ve been used for.
