I was driving home the other day in my car and sat in a queue of traffic that was trying to get around a convoy of “travellers” that have set up camp in my village. It seems they are having a “mission meeting”
Anyway, blues and twos alongside me, and Mr Policeman tells me to pull over as he wants a word with me…
ME, whatever could I have done wrong■■?
So I pull over (in stationary traffic) and get out, “Right” he says, “Your vehicle has just been flagged on our ANPR system, but nothing to worry about as it read your plate wrongly, you are free to go”
Free to go, lovely expression.
I then ask him about the convoy of around 50 vans+caravans that are blocking the road, “Does your ANPR system check these as well?”
“Nothing to do with you, now on your way, you are free to go”, love that expression.
So, do the police bother checking tax, mot, insurance etc on these “travellers” vehicles, or have to turn a blind eye?
Did not seem to be concerned about missing number plates on the one in front of me.
