A horrible crash happen today between 2 trucks caused a pile up of 50 cars on motorway mountain pass inside a tunnel. 3 dead, 4 badly injured, very sad.
Its believed one trucker cut in front of the other for some unknown reason. Pics in the link from Vitinya pass.
windrush:
Thankfully nothing caught alight, it would have been absolute carnage then. Rip to those killed.
Pete.
You are correct Pete, there is a lot fuel and engine oil on the road right now. Hemus motorway will be closed all night, 14 hurt who are in hospital, 3 deceased.
Latest police report says: Lorry driver didn’t kept enough distance with the vehicle ahead of him, rear ended a cargo van inside the tunnel, because of it the truck jackknifed and blocked both lanes, cars were speeding and couldn’t stop because of the rain and piled up one after another.
Thank God of 2 other lorry drivers, one Bulgarian and one Serbian who stopped the whole traffic with their trucks heading into the tunnel a bigger carnage was avoided.
Main reason according to police for the accident is speeding and no safe distance.
truckyboy:
speed and not keeping the correct distance is the cause of most crashes…rip to those who lost lives, and a speedy recovery to those injured.
This.
I think every race i was driving either to or from this season there was an accident involving at least 3 trucks. All with smashed up cabs, and rears of trailers.
Following 10m behind a lorry traveling 90kmh in sub standard eastern gear is not the best idea.
Time after time we hear about these horrendous accidents yet everyday we see knumbskulls driving in the same manner that causes these pile ups.
Why oh why do these clowns not realise that one day it will probably happen to them.
Worst thing is they could take out innocent people in the process.
I have always realised some people are not too bright but how can anyone be so stupid to put other people in immenent danger.
And I’m afraid that you will still be playing that record in many years to come Contraflow as nothing is going to improve. Lemmings have been around for centuries, yet they still dive off of cliffs to a sticky end!
