Hi cooper1203,

Congratulations on passing your ADR exams.

You can do ‘just’ the tanker module any time that suits you, and you’re not even tied to the same provider that you just used.

I’d just point out that you shouldn’t think in terms of leaving it for a couple of years under the (wrong) impression that you’d be extending your present card by adding a tanker module because it doesn’t work in that way.

:bulb: An ADR card’s expiry date is 5 years from when you passed the Core module, so any additional entitlements would all expire (or need refreshing) at the same time, even if you added them a couple of years later.

Did you do your adr in a classroom or.online?
Place I work for asked me a while ago if I’d do.it.
I said ok.
Not heard anything since.
Am.not fussed be good to have I guess. And can count towards my cpc.
But curious how it works these days with covod

Hi edd1974,

An ADR course cannot be done online, I’m afraid it as simple as that.

As for how it works… it will be up to the provider to risk-assess, then come up with suitable masks, sanitiser, social distancing etc.

If you’re considering taking an ADR course, my advice is that you make sure that you’re comfortable with the provider’s procedures to address any COVID-19 concerns that you may have.

The ADR exams may be online, but that’s the provider’s choice… so if you want/need your exam results and ADR card quickly, then choose a provider who offers online exams, because you’ll have your exam results at the end of your course.

:bulb: If you choose a provider who only runs paper-based exams, the result and the ADR card will take somewhat longer to arrive.

The above advice from Dave is spot on, find a provider who offers online exams as I have done paper based exams 3 times in the past and the last time I renewed my ADR did the exams online, found it much easier and as Dave says you get your results quicker, I got my results 45 minutes after sitting the last module.

Cheers for that.
I’ll mention it to the office. Not like there take much.notice. as say was asked months ago.
And am.not fussed really.
be good to have a I guess.
But we don’t really do anything adr related.
Think they just panicked because a driver who was adr trained left
But we’re see what happens n thanks
