Done my good deed for the day…
Was going up A34 just north of Didcot and caught a distinct whiff of clutch from somewhere around me. Car a couple of vehicles in front started to slow so was passed by the vehicles behind it and as I drew up closer it started indicating left and heading to the verge and stopped.
So instead of whipping around it I slowed right down, hazards on and stopped in lane one of this national speed limit road which has no hard shoulder but it isn’t a smart motorway so is apparently fine
I could then see the driver was an elderly lady so I got out, asked if she was OK and she said she thinks her clutch had gone. And it had, and it was stuck in gear. So I got her out of the car, she called the RAC, I called the police and ten mins later they arrive to give a bit more prior warning and protection and I went on my merry way with thanks from the old lady and the cops.
It made me feel warm and fuzzy. Slightly.

Tacho on POA?
Sorry,
…well done.
Is POA the correct tacho option to select when performing saintly deeds of community service?

Good one. Could have been a nasty if she had decided to sit in the car waiting for help to arrive.
