At the end of the saddest October for motorsport, the veteran sidecar passenger Dave Wells died yesterday during a festival of sidecars at Mallory Park.
Dave Wells passengered Roy Hanks who were a formidable team in the IOM TT from 2000 onwards

Dave is married with two daughters, Sarah and Claire
By trade he is a painter and decorator, who enjoys life to the full.
Dave used to drive his own outfit in 1971, taking up passengering in 1984.
As passenger to Mick Boddice Snr, Dave has won the TT twice and the F2 British Championship twice.
