A terrible turn of events.
So what if the journalist got his/her terminology incorrect? Totally irrelevant.
I know that this is a sad event, but please tell me why so many police vehicles?
It’s like the old joke, why do you need 20 council workers to dig a hole? Ans: 1 to dig it and 19 to watch
That car transporter would weigh the best part of 17-18 tonnes AT LEAST unladen. All the media report it as being a 7.5 tonner ■■?
Thoughts with the family but also to the poor driver. He was only doing a day’s work and he’s got that to live with.

Its a crime scene, basically. So there will be soco, Collision Investigation, the first responders (ie those first on scene); plus officers needed to identify witnesses, implement and control the cordon etc. Any vehicle inside the cordon will not move until the scene is closed down by the SIO.
Such a sad event you never know the minute. I feel for the driver he has to carry that with him for the rest of his life. It could destroy him BUT how did the child manage to escape the mother to get onto the road on a scooter. You cannot take your eyes off a child on a main road for one second. Taking young children to school on a road like that you hold their hands not let them ride scooters. A tragedy indeed but at the same time completely avoidable.

I’m sorry, BUT they were only being kids, enjoying life and now they have to grow up without a mother.
Sympathy to the kids and the husband/partner.

They were walking on a main road FFS. Common sense and all that eh… Let kids be kids were it’s a safe environment.
