Could be problems for other haulage company’s too judgeing by commercial motors report.

Shame another one has gone, our glorious leaders in London may disagree with “However, due to a continuing decline in trade the firm has now entered liquidation.” though, as we all know everywhere is on the up … or is that a figment of imagination.

Sadly fellow drivers and staff will be losing jobs here so good luck to them all.

Shocked at that one, it says in cm that it was based in Thorne, I thought they were based in Beverly, did they have a yard in Thorne?

A distinctive livery on their trucks, which always seemed to look smart.

Shame for the guys that worked there. Hope they get sorted.

Ken.

A saw a job advert for them last year.
Motors always looked smart it’s a shame another has gone.

They had a yard of the M18 in the industrial estate.

I drove past their yard in thorne last Monday, there was 2 trailers in the yard but the yard was locked up which I thought was funny.

forgot to add,i looked up at the office windows as I drove past and you could see a shelf in the office with what looked like awards on,looks like the staff must have had to leave the premises quickly.
very sad. :frowning:

They were massively reliant on Palletways. The main depot at Beverley was almost entirely Palletways. They used to have a contract in Scarborough but that was right on TEF’s doorstep so it wouldn’t surprise me if they lost that.

word on the street was - at one point when the pinder contract was up for renewal, when nr had it, tef went in 25% cheaper, but nr kept it it. a year or 2 later tef got it, maybe when pinders were starting to struggle.

So many hauliers who are part of a pallet network have gone bust lately, surely things need to change. Hope all the staff get sorted sooner rather than later.

I mentioned this to my boss the other week, as we are a member of a network. He said he keeps that part seperate to the general haulage and other contracts so one can’t take the other and the rest of the business down.

He did say though that if a network wants you out they can make life very very awkward till the business cracks.

What a shambles this industry is in when and where will we all end up

Problem is firms get little say in what the rate is and if they do ask for more theres always a pack of hungry wolves sniffing about ready to pick up the work

If anyone went in cheap on that pinder work they need there heads examining!! I saw the tender a couple of years ago and rates , What they wanted at what they were willing to pay(especially being in that really convenient location of scarboro) was impossible without loosing money!! (if you think your planners plan badly half the time its not its the lead times and delivery times customers give them!)
