What a great day for delivering straw today has been, had sun and snow, fantastic day on the road. Last job I enjoyed as much as this was when I was a red coat at Butlins Skegness. What I found extraordinary is I went into a barn today and it is actually warm with no heating at all. Straw must generate heat as it was all really warm to the touch. No wonder animals love using it for bedding, I am thinking of stuffing my quilt with the stuff.
My first driving job was delivering hay and straw around the Cotswolds in the late 80’s. Loads of posh horsey places and big farms.
Was a great job.
Have to admit to being envious of anyone doing it now.

Think I’d only be envious of them in the summer!
The Cotswolds is lovely because the people who own the people who run the country for them own it, if they had to suffer 500 acre warehouses dotted on any convenient meadow, prisons, retail parks, asylum seeker reception centres, barrack style housing estates, and other assorted eyesores that the rest of us have to put up with, they won’t, then it wouldn’t be quite the lovely area it is.
I came up the A429 meself today to the A40, one could be forgiven for thinking the year was still 1957, but without the manners.

Although I’m interested in pictures and videos too, we have to appreciate that UKT might be busy and cannot fulfill our request.

If the straw is warm it’s been baled/stored with too much moisture,
actually not good for the beasts as will be full of mould when shook out for bedding!!!

got some videos up moron. I have heard enough of your snide remarks now and to be honest I really dislike people like you. I most certainly wouldn’t let people like you know where I work. Your not worthy of my time. Good day!

And both sets of people have shotguns and land to hide the bodies…
I always drummed into my kids that we were living in paradise compared to a lot of other people in this country, now they are getting about a bit they can see it too.
