Hi all, been a while since I’ve been on here.
Could you’s all clear this one up for me…
I’m no longer for that employer anymore
, and now work for some one that does it by the book.
Anyway. I’m currently on a hi-ab wagon and all I want to know is, when you’re operating the hi-ab, does that time (crossed hammers showing on the tacho) count also as your ‘driving’ time.
I’m getting a bit confused
no mate it doesn’t, it counts as other work, ie working but not driving,

No it’s only driving time if it’s recorded on the chart/card as driving time by a working tachograph which is basically when the wheels are turning.
If it shows on the chart/card/tachograph as crossed hammers then it’s other work.
