Another Digi tacho question

I was going to tag this onto the other Digi Tacho thread, but it was a completely different subject so…

Can anyone tell me any reason why the machine doesnt print an end mileage on the printout?

The place I have been at has asked if I know of any reason why and it has me stumped. I did think it was maybe because I hadnt removed the card at end of shift on a night out, but then we checked a previous print from the week before and that was the same, but was only a day run. These are 2 different trucks by the way.

Strange thing is, I have been in a 3rd truck today, and it printed everything fine.

Is it me, or something else?

Are you parking up and doing the printout immediately? I’m not 100% sure on this but I think if you let it record a minute of other work before doing the printout you will get the end mileage, if you print while it is in effect still in driving mode you won’t get the end mileage. I think it assumes you are still driving so doesn’t know the end mileage, or something like that.

This is sort of the same behaviour if you take a printout to check the amount of driving done. If you take the printout before you let it record 1 minute of a different activity, POA, Break or Other Work, it doesn’t take into account the last driving stint in the total driving time.

I have never had any problems. It says ‘24 hour day’ i say yes and it prints everything. Start mileage finish mileage and total driven. It is a seimens unit don’t know about the others.

Hmmm, possible. I have to draw curtains back if I am done at the yard so that wouldnt explain the dodgy day run print.

Thanks for the suggestion.

That sounds like it will be when you are ejecting the card so it knows the totals at that point. I was wondering if he was taking a printout before ejecting the card.

Hiya coffeeholic,

The first time I used a digi was on a day run, and the print was taken at ejection. The following work involved 2 nights out, whereby I left the card in.

The company has prints for each day worked, days or with nights out. It wasn’t brought to my attention until today. All three occasions have been in differing vehicles, yet today’s print shows everything that should be there!!

Its got people baffled, but the only thing I can think of is that I left the card in on my nights out, but that doesnt explain the day run print.

Oh yeah, you need to remember that I am agency, and so these prints are a month apart.

I always leave my card in on nights out but I don’t often take printouts so can’t say whether that would be a factor or not, I’ll try it next week just to see. When you leave it in as well as switching the mode to rest are you also going into the menu and setting your end country? You should be and if not that could be a factor.

I can confirm that the Siemens will not give you your finish mileage unless you have finished your duty and entered location. So if you just leave it in on a night out and don’t ‘book off’ thats what happens.

I had this problem and found every time i do a 2nd print out the end mileage got printed!!!
Really haven’t got an explanation or a clue either lol
