A female cyclist has died following a collision with a heavy goods vehicle near Howden. The lorry failed to stop and police are trying to track the driver down.
Emergency services were called to Thorpe Road at 7.40am today.
A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: "We we called to the scene by ambulance crews who continud to treat the woman at the scene. Sadly, she has since died.
“The HGV did not stop and officers are appealing for information to help them trace the vehicle, which was said to be mainly red.”
Road closures are in place between Howden and Holme on Spalding Moor and traffic is queuing. Motorists are being warned to avoid the area where possible.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information is asked to Humberside Police call 101, quoting log number 81.
