Another case for the TNUKCSI to investigate

m.hulldailymail.co.uk/lorry-shed … story.html

Lorry loses a caravan/Portacabin on roundabout.
So, opinions people, what happened?

It’s definitely a case of it having…

fallen off. :open_mouth:

You’re sleeping in a tent tonight?

I love this bit: One witness said: “Good job a cyclist wasn’t on the roundabout.”

Yes, and it’s also a good job that it didn’t fall the other way on to a pedestrian, but it didn’t, just as it didn’t fall on to a cyclist! :unamused:

2 STRAPS!!

“Another witness said he believed there was a problem with the straps holding the caravan in place.”
He said: “The driver had two straps on his load and one strap snapped as he went round the roundabout.”

Agency :open_mouth: :unamused:

Even an excess of straps won’t hold that kind of load in place.

Driving carefully is better, which seems to go out of the window with so many drivers when it comes to negotiating roundabouts without even bothering to slow down for it.

Do we know if the load was being escorted at the time?

I would have thought that this was at least “Convoi Excepsional”

What difference would an ■■■■■■ have made?

To stop all those silly buggers who insist upon overtaking anything on a roundabout. :stuck_out_tongue:

there could well have been a little background to that comment; a couple of years ago a cyclist was killed when a container or porticabin slipped off a flat bed on a roundabout in the same area (maybe the same roundabout) the container left the road went over the grass verge and killed the cyclist who was on the cycle path.

I was just about to say didn’t a cyclist get killed by a shed load on that same roundabout a couple of years ago?

Well I think a Lorry lost a caravan/Portacabin on roundabout.
Insufficient strapping and too fast on a roundabout!

Wow, that’s a freaky coincidence! :open_mouth:
Obviously no disrespect to that poor cyclist’s family, it’s just that the line in the article had no other context than “what if…”

She could have taken you back to a happy place after you made that call to your boss, probably not too pricey either with it being Hull…

…just kidding Hull…

That reminds me of the car driver who came to a garage, with a complaint about a knocking noise from under the car…

Passed this as I came out of vivergo fuels, I must admit it did look like it was strapped down by a 5 year old… The lads from modular movements all seemed happy with themselves though!! :open_mouth:

its a case of a dont give a sh*te its not my trailer :grimacing:

The paper is obviously confused is it a shed or a caravan answers please
