another bridge strike

+1 Juddian. As a Car Transporter driver we use a height stick to measure our loads, these are available for anyone to buy and at about £70 they are cheaper than the fine for driving without due care. If companies are marking trailers with confusing heights get a measuring devise and cover ones own ■■■.

So you’re suggesting I as a cab hoping day shift driver should carry a height stick round with me ( I just use a tape measure), I can see your point if I was a tramper who had his own truck but like the other day I used 3 different trucks in one day,I can’t see it being very practical to be honest,
I just wonder how many drivers bar car transporter drivers carry measuring sticks around with them  I don’t know of any myself.

If I’m reading it right then there saying 16 ft trailer hit a 15ft bridge ,if so then that isn’t the truck trailer that hit it,there’s no way that tris 16 ft,13 ft 8 I’d of said( same as our old fridges but with tail lift .
Whatever that tris not 16 ft

If you read the article properly you will see it is a double decker that hit the bridge.
The first picture in the gallery of the article is a library picture showing a standard trailer approaching the bridge.
