An £80 professional height stick looks a cheap investment compared to that lot.

Is it possible for a bucket/jib to raise due to road bounce, i thought they needed hydraulics running for that to happen, or does it depend how the jib/equipment has been stowed for travel?

Another M20 type scenario

You can still have ram bounce, cylinders that prevent oil going back and air/oil, pick up a heavy hydraulic jack by its neck, the ram will extend, now push it back down, it’s gone springy!

I carried machines and alway strapped the lifting arms, booms, etc. some machines may have lock pins, watch an empty 1970’s farm trailer, the body bounces, more fun for the school kids to ride in.

According to the article, the digger fell off the low loader. It doesn’t mention it hitting the bridge, so it could have been a load securing fail (then again, if the bridge wasn’t weak like the one on the M20, hitting the bridge could have just detached it from the truck rather than destroying the bridge).

There’s huge chunks missing according to the reports, it won’t be open till an engineer has chwvkec it

Looks like a local demolition company pulling their own digger that’s hit the flyover on the busy ring road.

Yip saw it once I posted. Oops.

Theres a statement from the company admitting that it hit the bridge while being carried. If its the one I’m thinking of they could have gone over the top and avoided going under the bridge if there was any doubt.

Suspect it should have been chained down better (esp the boom) but just moving it between sites, get it done quick and whats the worst that can happen… Oops.

It’s about as possible as everyone who has ever been in an RDC waiting room just missing the Herald Of Free Enterprise.

Why wasn’t the ■■■■■■ on the radio shouting to him/her. Even if it was, looks a bit tight.

As any respectable company where heights vary should, still doesn’t stop the half wits from doing their worse mind.
