part of an email i received from an agency i use very very occasionally (once every month)
Good Morning All
Please remember I need either your proof of drivers negligence policy or a signed form back. If you do not respond by close of play tomorrow, we will automatically enrol you into our policy and £4 a week (when worked ) will be deducted from your pay.
so for me £4 a shift… ie 50p an hour off sunday rate … making it £16 hour
my usual agency will not charge us, still get good rate m-f
and any drivers that have an incident at regular place i work at are reassessed and if fail are no longer requested
About 9 years ago an agency I was working for sent me a similar message. When I asked what it was for he said it was to help cover all the damage the drivers had been doing. This was damage from the new batch of Polish drivers that he hired so I pointed out that I had never caused any damage and would not be subsidising those that did. Needless to say it was never deducted from my money.
Obviously many drivers just accept this and therefore make it more difficult for the newer agency drivers to get away with refusing to pay.
Same old story though, if all agency drivers say no then it will go away pretty ■■■■ quick.

I’d be phoning them and telling them to remove you from their books.
