Seriously though, I think you need to explain your self more…is this for making a web site? a banner? writing a letter, E-mail, book? presentation, ?
Micro$oft are ok, but there are other programs out there.
A free and very good programme, very similar to M$ Works, is Open Office.
You can download it from download.openoffice.org/2.0.1/index.html.
It will open all M$ documents and does everything that M$ Works does and best of all (IMHO), it isn’t an M$ programme.
Its quite a large download, so I hope you’re on broadband. If not, its on the cover disc of a magazine I’ve been getting for years. The Mag’ is called PC Answers and costs about £6, very cheap, in comparison to the cost of buying M$ Works. There are quite a few other full programmes on there too.

letter and wanted animated gifs in and that open
office does the job perfectly thanks Simon
