I’ve just done first day on artic… Volvo FM7 290, 6 speed with splitter, 2 axle trailer. There is 2 of us on a truck, which helps a lot.
First of all coupling/ uncoupling, struggled a bit, but finally got to the end, then reversing, which went fine.
On the road wasn’t that good anyway. Clipped few curbs on a roundabouts, and had some problems with gearbox.
Instructor was quite happy as for a first day of training.
Will see how it goes tomorrow…

Second day. Started with uncoupling/ coupling, never checked if the fifth wheel would get under a trailer:( Reversing was a bit worse than yesterday, but still passable. On the road still struggled with clutch and gears, instructor said it wasn’t too bad. Quite a few serious faults…
Need to polish some bits and pieces and hope I will get better tomorrow.

Lot better on the road. Much more confident with clutch and gearbox. One serious fault on roundabout:(
Still 2 more days to go and my test on Tuesday.

More driving. Instructor satisfied. I think it could be better than that. Still 1 more day before my test on Tuesday. Just got message, that my co-trainee passed this morning with clear sheet. Not even a single minor. Well done Dean:-)

Last day.
Things went fine today. Coupling no problems, same with reversing. On the road nice and smooth, instructor said, if that was test drive it would be a pass certificate with 1 maybe 2 minors. Tomorrow test, getting a bit stressed. Hope everything will go to the plan, and I’ll do the job. Will keep you updated.

Now have to find a company, that will let me get off buses for good…
