I think those are linseed plants harry.
You are almost right , Coffee. They are spuds…Maris Piper. In a couple of days they will be sprayed with chemicals to kill off the blooms so that the spuds dont get to grow any bigger. Then they will be harvested as seed potatoes . Its amazing when you are retired what you learn. Now I have time to stop & talk to the farmers , whereas before all you are thinking about is whats round the next bend.

With this hot weather ,everything is growing too fast for us farmers. I myself farm two very large window boxes that need watering every night with no let up in sight…
