Stonehenge
It was sunset in Essex last night after England’s exit." The countryside breathed a sigh of relief as the sun went down on all the media hype… "( I will leave you to fill in the rest // Ed. ) PS. This area had a power cut just as the game started…
This is the same area . Anyone know what the plants are…? I have to say these snaps takes centuries to upload into photo bucket. I have even lost a new thread whilst waiting …Anyway it makes a change from the M6 /J 7…
I think those are linseed plants harry.
You are almost right , Coffee. They are spuds…Maris Piper. In a couple of days they will be sprayed with chemicals to kill off the blooms so that the spuds dont get to grow any bigger. Then they will be harvested as seed potatoes . Its amazing when you are retired what you learn. Now I have time to stop & talk to the farmers , whereas before all you are thinking about is what
s round the next bend.
PS. You win first prize since you were the only one that entered the comp.
First prize . A day trip to Slough.
Second prize. Two days in Slough.
Third prize. ( Fill in the form )…days in Slough.
With this hot weather ,everything is growing too fast for us farmers. I myself farm two very large window boxes that need watering every night with no let up in sight…

So when you say almost right, you actually mean totally wrong.
Maybe it’s those other purple/blueish fields that are linseed then?
As for the visits to Slough I was there on Saturday in my role as shopping trolley aimer, making sure the residents of that fine town had a goodly supply or produce, including potatoes.
Out of the percentage of truckers that took part in the comp. our computers calculated that you were closest to the answer…
This actually happened on a Win a Renault
competion. The one who wrote the best catch phrase would win. Only one guy entered. So by law they had to give him the car…I always wondered what the catchphrase was? " Eat More Spuds!!" Would be mine…
Harry - Lower the resolution of your photos, may help with your upload time
Thanks for that. I have a habit of snapping in full res… That must be the problem.
