Blimey doze thats a bit low for 70 hours, maths isnt my strongpoint but from beavers figures it looks a little off, unless your on a different rate entirely, you wouldnt be on an emergency tax code by any chance would you.
£590 take home is about £780 gross - but that would include all his accrued expenses.
But my point is still this:
dozy:
I did 0ver 70 hrs ,5 nights out and that was £590 take home
Anyone who seriously thinks that is a good wage needs medical help.
I took home £450 last week for 53 hours and I was happy with that. TBH I don’t want to do more than 55 hours a week and quite happy with 45 hours on some weeks. I would hate tramping

It’s not for everyone. I absolutely love it, see a bit of the country, not charging about trying to get back to base, and being a foot away from my very comfortable bed. Some of my mates, however hate doing even a single night out.
It’s horses for courses, I knew I’d love it before I even did it. Was a bit grim at first, being a newbie to class 1, not really knowing the more obscure places to park when loaded, so I was getting stressed about trying to get on places like Thurrock with not much time to spare.
I find it far more relaxed than just doing shifts.
I’ve met some great folk and had some ace laughs, but if I end up in a layby in the middle of nowhere, I’m happy enough with my own company, and I’ve always got my tablet and wifi dongle if I get bored, but I doubt it sees much more than an hours use each week.
dozy:
Doubt it Dave ,I did 0ver 70 hrs ,5 nights out ,6 days ( although last one was 2 hrs ) and that was £590 take home ,another 7 hrs x £8.30 ish p.h isn’t going to net you a extra £110 …I was totally underwhelmed by it ,im not seeing a massive jump from days to be honest ,other than when I did 30/40 ( 50 guaranteed p.w ) .
And when I take the £400 sat nav ,£35 per month phone contract ,cooler box, kettle ,cooker ( it’s no wonder the Mrs is hardly talking ,setee again last night ,zb leathers cold this time of year ) , I bet I’m worse off

Bit worrying that your missus aint talking to you, im no life coach but if your jobs gettin you down it will affect your home life, any cracks will be magnified and can quickly turn the relationship sour.
I feel you have also been forced into tramping so perhaps looking elsewhere might work, maybe try Culina or a different part of the industry entirely.
Couldn’t find pay slip ,used girls car and found it on floor of her boot today ,it’s 70 hrs ,£749.28 gross,£596.05 net ,tax £76.20,ni £51.51,£25.52 pension ,don’t think my tax code is emergency ,tax code 1060 l/ o.
happysack:
So where is your night out money and meal allowance?
pay slip shows 5x meal allowance at £15, 4 x night out money at £22.50 ( I thought I did 5 nights out as I ran in for 2 hrs sat morn but parked up at my depot and went home one night so they don’t pay that, fair enough) ,also 2 1/4 hrs at sat rate £10.63 for the running in .
Haven’t had pay slipes as not got back yet but last 2 weeks gone in bank are showing pretty much the same £594/ £597 take home apx for 70 hrs ,4 nights out .mon- fri .
If the night out money / meal allowance was on top of 749 you would be talking £900 top line I think ,take home £650- £700 per week ,it’s certainely not what I’m getting ,but according to others I’ve spoke to ,general ,mates there saying there taking home £650 ish per week ,so I’m mystified ,I’ll have to look into tax code ,maybe it is wrong ,I’ve not noticed ,but what on pay slip gross wise ,m/a ,night out money ,x amount of hours at £8.38,x amount of hours at £9.33 + couple hours at £10.63 does seem correct .
Asked mates to look at there pay slips to see how there taking home £650 ish per week and I’m taking home mid £590 p.w but up until now not seen one .
but if I did it for a year it would in theory be 35k apx p.a ,abt what I thought but along way short of the 47 k p.a claimed on here for tramping for esl, stobart ,ws etc .
Anyway let’s hope they get a move on today as I don’t want another night out and a couple of hours running in again ,but these sites do have one pace ,slow ,and look at the mud everywhere again

It does also say tax meal- one-£15 ( that was night at toddling ton ,which I think should of been £20 ish )
Anyway now so I’m told doing new hospital up your way ,so you’ll have to tell me where you park then I can have a look at your pay slips to see how the other half get paid
I work agency in the SW and I am absolutely gob smacked by some of the pay figures thrown around on here. How the hell do you boys support houses/family on such figures?

Quite comfortably thank you. But then again I live in South West Scotland. [emoji6] [emoji6]
1060l is the right tax code for you doze unless your married or special
My take home for 70hours is about £600 give or take, just had a new truck with fridge and microwave so would happily work for less…
Due to circumstances I cant discuss (or I would have to kill myself) the court system punishes me if I earn to much. Good job im a tramper really.

Fine thanks but then I am in the North East of England ( some would say Scotland mind )
But as you are agency when there is no work you don’t get paid

dozy might be getting rogered for hours & could be earning a fair amount more for tramping, but he’s still taking home 600 a week. That’s the equivalent of £40K a year. If you can’t support your family on £40K your playing a dangerous game driving lorries for a living imo…
