And the driver walks away

Incredible but true the Portugees driver got away with this one on the N10 around Angouleme , France .

Just a moments inattention when perhaps driving too close and that is what
you get. Can’t help feeling that speed limiters play a part here. Everyone (in
wagons) on approximately the same speed encourages close
driving and last minute lane changes.

Unfortunately, as the text hints, this may well cause the banning of all through
heavies from this route to the A10.

Can’t remember Frenchy, but is this part of the section where overtaking is
banned? Another crazy idea causing close proximity driving.

I agree with you spardo limiters are a mennis i dont run with one,i dont take libertise with not having one its just nice to have the option of getting by safely.

This was the latest section of the N10 to be finished , just last year in fact and yes Spardo its single file for Lorries , problem seems to be foriegn drivers in Spanish or French Lorries like bulgarians or Portugees , there are umpteen accidents everyday with rear end shunts with the like, sometimes with cars in the middle . Its a boring road with wall to wall lorries .
the general thing was to stick them back onto the A10 . unless they were delivering so a 80 ks limit was imposed on a few sections but as this route is so busy and shorter and cheaper than the A10 it has`nt been implimented yet.
