Analogue tacho help please

Can someone please help, I understand you need to carry 28 days tacho charts with you plus the day you are working but does this mean 28 charts, In my case 5 per week as I never work weekends or would I be carrying 20 charts plus that days? Hope this makes sense guys.

You are supposed to keep any used discs for 28 days before handing them in, always have a few spare ones on you just in case you need them. I used hand mine in on my last shift of the week following the 28 day deadline.

Hope that helps.

cheers bald bloke, do i need to complete disks for saturday and sunday when im not working, on a cpc course recently and some were saying yes and that goes towards the 28 days why others said no and 28 days means i will actually only need to carry 20 as 20 plus 8 days for the weekends= 28 days. This ■■■■ cpc stuff has left me more confussed than ever!!!

No there’s no need to do anything on your days off regarding filling out a card, never believe what you hear on a CPC course.

I think i know how the confusion was started.
If doing continental work on analogue tachographs,i would have the weekend off in the cab while being away from home.
I would do a manual hand written chart to cover the two days off.
Recording the mileage on friday night which matches up when i started sunday night or monday morning.
On the reverse of the chart,a continious line was drawn to show rest for the two days on two tacho charts.
If not done above i would need an attestation activity letter to cover days off/sickness or absence from work or pay a few thousand euros court deposit at the road side.
For your case, you have no need to record your days off as it is up to DVSA to prove you have worked or not.
