last week on my way to calais via brussels i spotted a road sign (temporary to avoid roadworks), that directed traffic bound for a place called zeebergrug, i was past ity before it registered and i did actually read it as zeebrugge as my brain translated the anagrammed sign and afterwards i wasn’t quite sure if it was or if i was suffering some slight form of dislexia, this week on my way home i made a point of looking for this and sure enough i was right, it is an anagram and can be found at the junction for aalst, perhaps it’s some sort of belgium trend to get drivers to think a little more about where they are going, i hope it doesn’t increase as the belgians really do need to be paying a little more attention to driving than working out town names.
