Had a steady run down from Bellshill today and noticed a few old motors along the way. I think there must have been a rally over the weekend. I managed to get a decent shot of this one.
Steady day, down to the yard for 3 then reload for morning and park the motor in Brighouse for night. I park it next to the canal but as it’s a pay and display car park till 6 pm, and I had the trailer on, I pulled up just before the bus station for ½ hour as it was only just gone 5 and generally there are a few cars scattered about till ½ past
As I’m sat there one of willi’s came down the other side of the duel carriageway but past me before I had the chance to snap it. Then it went straight on into tesco’s car park.
Fair play to the fellor he soon turned it round found a dozen spaces to leave the wagon as they did their shopping.
This ones from last week, after dropping one on the allotments behind Branch St Paddock, Huddersfield.
Bit tight getting back out
Had a really lucky week last week. Picked one up from a yard in Grays we measured Robs motor up with the identical load @16’3”
The bed on mine is 2” higher so just sneeked in the 16’6” limit. Wrong we hadn’t noticed that thre was a 4” slope over the 32’ lenth of the cabin. We’d loaded mine back to front. Realised mistake on the M11 when I was going under a duel carrageway and the bridge rasped the top of the cabin. Re measured it @ 199 3/4” or 16’7 3/4”
Opps , luckily little damage
Then later in the week I was dropping a 3 ½ ton mobile unit. I un-strapped it as rob pulled along side to tip it. As we were having a ■■■ and thinking about it just started rolling and almost flattened a 1972 Ford D series.
Only damage was a scratch on the one next to it
last time I saw this trailer I was pulling it down to Heathrow on nights for Freelance freight with an old ERF with twin splitter. As it is an A Frame I couldn’t couple it to the rear so used the nose to push it round the yard
Unusually, I did a load of scrap forks and stuff from Dawson forklifts and got shut of most of it at Morley waste traders.
And the rest of it here. Hell of a drop from the weighbridge.
Saw this trailer. Two lift axles on it. It must save a fortune on tyre scub. You would think they would be more common.
And spotted this nice 8X4 heavy haulage Scania at Hartshead.
and from one extreme to the other. This has got to me the smallest car I’ve ever seen
