As a france based english driver, it never ceases to amuse me when I pass one of this firms trucks.
Is that Trotters Independent Traders?
Bumble Hole Eggs always makes me wonder what they were thinking!
Not a name but Eldis of Consett used to have some trucks in a company livery with “love you bum” on the front! Always made me chuckle!
There used to be ‘GAYFRIEGHT’ what happened to them ?
Over here ther is a company called ‘A Duie Pyle’ the drivers are mostly idiots and I have a lot of arguments with the ones that get stuck behind my tanker driving up 22A in Vermont as they drive small parcel lorries and can’t understand why a 40 ton lquid tanker goes down hill fast and up hills slow
I tell them their company name translates into English as … ‘A HEAP OF [zb]’

Iirc Gayfreight worked out of the Stalybridge area. I used to sub out of Manros there and they used to drop some trailers in there. Always made me giggle to see the trailer numbers; Gay1, Gay2 etc. think they changed their name to Bayfreight. Can’t think why though.
Gayfreight used to be in Horn Lane Greenwich, with a massive warehouse there and a contract with Coca Cola for storage, they changed the name to Melo Freight and moved out of Greenwich to the other side of the water and took over the Tate & Lyle warehousing at Plaistow Wharf. On the lorry side yhey had contracts with Gilbey’s Gin and Jack Daniels, they also had some box vans on high value electronics work.
A firm I worked for had a few Y reg 280 MANs off the electronics fleet and I had one of the ex JD F10s they used to run, they got out of transport in the very early 90s and concentrated on warehousing AFAIK
Phar Q transport, later renamed Phar Q 2 Transport out of Tilbury is the one I like
I have to say the auto censor on this site is downright riddicuous
It censors an ‘S’ with two stars followed by a ‘T’ to [zb]
There used to be a firm of builders in Brisbane with little trucks that just had “GAY” sign written on them.
STD always make me chuckle for some reason…
A Guy near me has a few 7.5 tonners, his name is Gerry O’Donnell so he decided to put his initials on the front of the cab…think about it
Transmec used to have their initials on the trailers -
Transmec International Transport
Are ■■■■■■ still going
Cant believe that got censored, legit Belge co iirc.

Well it would wouldn’t it? Because its intelligent enough to pick up auto censor dodges using stars. So if you type S star star T its going to think you’re trying to use an unpleasant word similar to sit.

Did you mean F ocke day (take out the spaces)
Yes still going, often see them on the A13 here in Normandy

LOL! Yes, I used to live not too far from this company and it also made me smile whenever I spotted them passing by!
Hiya…a chap who worked for the dudley area council on the septick tank job set up on his own
with a vaccy tank in the 70’s, it said… dr ■■■’s turdis …on his lorry. don’t know if he’s still going.
on the council his hour’s was 8 till 4 and no overtime, when he was on his own he’d turn out anytime and
