Well that clears that up then

Cant be. I think carryfast posted a very subtle funny link. Had me going for a moment till I scanned down to the table of evolution theory vs scientific theory (a contradiction in itself) and saw the bit that said “■■■■■■ reproduction came about by evolution” … “Two humans had to evolve at the same time and place, having complementary reproductive systems. If one system wasn’t complete or compatible, the species would become extinct.”

Then I realised it was a spoof

It’s all the contradictions which actually prove that the theory of evolution is bs.I’m not sure if it’s a spoof or not but in general it seems to contain most of the similar types of ideas which I was thinking when my teachers tried ( and failed ) to convince me that we just ‘evolved’. :bulb:

They are a nation of nut cases the majority of truckstops especially as you head south have a chapel and sell loads of religious stuff
I was in one in Kentucky this week the woman behind the counter told me I was a troubled soul in need of saviour and she would pray for me until I found it.

Ha ha that’s tops.
Were you buying a ■■■■ mag at the time ?

How about this for a theory … Carryfast and switchlogic/driving miss daisy are actually the same person. It all adds up. I bow before the ultimate troll. Very impressed.

Between 40-50% of adults in the United States say they believe in Young Earth Creationism, depending on the poll. According to a Gallup poll in December 2010, around 40% of Americans believe that the Universe, Earth and all life on Earth were created by direct acts of the Abrahamic God during a relatively short period, sometime between 5,700 and 10,000 years ago, with 52% among Republicans and 34% among Democrats. The percentage falls quickly as the level of education increases–only 22% of respondents with postgraduate degrees believed compared with 47% of those with a high school education or less.

In Texas, 30% think humans and dinosaurs co-existed. The “I don’t know” number was 29%.

A CBS News Poll in 2009 showed that 51% believe God created Man in his present form. Another 27% think we evolved, but God guided the process.

Up to 28% think we never landed on the moon.

24% have no idea who we declared independence from in 1776.

20% of Americans think UFO Aliens have abducted someone they know!

This is most depressing. What happens in america happens over here sooner or later. Remember Blair? He wanted schools to teach creationism, presumably after bush called him over with his famous “yo blair” comment. I hope your not suggesting americans have been dumbed down by their government to subdue them. (glances out window for a black non descript car)

Most of them think the earth is flat!!!

It is pretty flat in Lincolnshire

I think Blair was a CofE convert ( infiltrator ) to Catholicism who believes in same ■■■ marriage in church probably amongst all the other retrograde CofE values such as those related to abortion and the sanctity of marriage. :open_mouth:
No surprise from someone who thinks that there’s a difference between so called ‘creationism’ compared to just being open minded to the idea that the Christian faith and it’s Church in general is probably right. In which case ‘creationism’ is just an irrelevant bs term because Christianity is as creationist as it needs to get.

Which seems a bit like the idea of being taught Darwinism in the same school that also teaches Christian Religeous Education. :unamused: As they say the Church has always been subject to infiltration by it’s opposing forces and no suprise that Blair is probably one of those who caused the Pope’s abdication and that lightning strike on the Vatican. :smiling_imp:

As for the American Christians there’s nothing depressing about the forces of good v those of the opposite. :bulb:

I do think Carryfast is someone clever on a wind up but alas its not me. I have neither the time nor the inclination. Nor am I very clever. (Bertie is not best pleased you called him Miss Daisy…)

That isn’t what those teachers at my school said when I asked them how they could be trying to teach us Christian values in one class and Darwinism in another. :open_mouth: But then the UK education system has never been as good as the American one. :bulb: :smiling_imp:

See what you’ve started Ched?

Don’t blame me, this thread was destined to take this path and the OP knows it!

I think Americans are just more open about their very various religious beliefs as I noticed the same on motorbike forums. When it comes to creationism I don’t believe either theory and no I don’t have any better ones.
