Scratting some overtime tomorrow with a 9am booking at the new (to me) Amazon Doncaster. Normal stuff, are times stuck to, is it fairly quick (33 plts all one product), is it a get there 30mins early jobbie etc

There are 3 or 4 Amazons within chucking distance in Doncaster, so check your address.

It’s the same at pretty much all Amazons to be honest when delivering stock. You’ll generally get in so long as your not stupidly early or too late, how long your in there for is like asking how long a piece of string is. Catch them on a good day it’ll be about 1-2 hours for a full trailer, catch them on a bad day and it could be half a day. Pitch up more or less on time with everything crossed and hope for the best.

Agreed, been in and out of them in minutes, also been to some awful ones. Really is the luck of the draw.

If it’s LBA3 you’ll spend more time getting booked in at security than you will being turned around in the yard.

It’s a common occurrence for us to be instructed to go and get our keys and notes back and pull out once we’ve waited that long. That’s happened at Doncaster and Bolton more than once.

I’ve also been on a bay then in and out in half an hour at Doncaster before.

Why are amazon RDCs so bad? I don’t think I’ve ever got out in under 2hrs. The last one I went to was Peterborough about 12 months ago and it took about 7hrs and that was only because I was nearly out of time so they got me out. Had to go straight to services on the other side of the A1 with minutes to spare. My mate was at Doncaster a few weeks ago for over 4hrs. They make tesco look good.

Well all I’ve got is one of our pallet notes and not the actual customer paperwork. That’s stuck on one of the 33plts but not the outside facing sides :unamused:

I do have all the usual numbers though and if I’m right when it’s booked in they’ll have paperwork on their system. Hopefully

Why are amazon RDCs so bad? .

If I had to hazard a guess I’d say it’s because their sites are run by managers who’ve been promoted way beyond their abilities and who are incapable of fulfilling their job descriptions coupled to a largely demoralised staff who genuinely don’t give a ■■■■ and spend every minute of their working day clock watching and praying for the end of their shift and freedom.

This is very true and it’s no more than 30 mins early here aswell

Everybody is friendly enough and the bogs are spotless :frowning:

Inbound stock deliveries are basically bottom of the pile in terms of their priorities, they allocate most of their staff resources to order picking and outbound loading. If you get a quick tip is probably because what you have on they are short of. For a company so cash rich & who literally fritter away millions every week they are proper cheapskates when it comes to staff.

It’s well known that amazon treat their warehouse staff like they aren’t even human beings. If I was treated like that either quit, or if that wasn’t an option I certainly wouldn’t give a crap about rushing about and doing my job right. If a team who are tipping the trucks have an attitude anywhere close to that, it would be certainly a factor why it’s so bad.

In and out in 45 minutes. No drama.
