Never too old as long as you can still see where you’re going

Best of luck.

I’d rather take on an older, reliable guy than some youngster who thinks we owe him or job or spends all his time moping around because his team has lost or his girlfriend is messing him about

How lows the age bar mademoiselle?..[emoji38]

Only requirements, a V8, 2k a week, day work, 2 on 5 off.

You made me laugh. Every time I ask one of my drivers if he needs anything he puts in a bid for a V8 Scania. He even asked the Chairman of the ■■■■ company for one last week

Needless to say he said no

Does amaze me though, my wife is given the awful Saturday night shift at her work, yet the teenie bopper, lazy, ignorant, entitles, get to pick the crop, then call in Sunday hung over an my wife’s expected to turn in an mop up on her one day off which is spent with our children.

Suffice to say, I sit firmly with your opinion of what’s happening to the employment market and the contents presenting themselves in it.

I’ve only ever got one request from any employer, I’ve a family so could I please have a Sun-Thurs tramp, an be home as early as poss Thurs so I can enjoy the down time, and thus I enjoy the work time as after all its about balance, and thus if I’m asked to do bit extra I’ve NO issues at all as I know I’m appreciated.

That’s it.

Now, about that lower age limit you’ve got… [emoji38] [emoji38]

Hi all, I am just seeking advice from you experienced truck drivers. I am 59 yo, is this to old to start truck driving again? I have a class 2 and was a lorry driver in the eighties. I haven’t driven a truck since 1991. I am thinking of going back in to it, maybe going for class 1. Would I still find work or would employers steer clear of an older driver just starting out. I know its all changed since the eighties and i would a medical to start with, but thought i would ask you lads for advice first. thanks in advance.

I started driving at the age of 61. Having taken voluntary redundancy from the car manufacturing industry after 40 years. Would say its been a learning curve but only a small one. I work for an agency two or three days a week . Same company, won’t go anywhere else. Consider taking your class one. More work choice and easier. Good luck.
