Am I expecting too much from a service?

I wonder what service you’d get if you took a £120,000 vehicle to Aston Martin for a service?!!

This is always my argument when they treat ours like skips. Somebody paid the equivalent of a Range Rover for it :bulb:

Regardless of what the vehicle cost - how much does someone actually pay for the service at either establishment?

We’re on 12 week inspections, and our r&m £100 a month under 2 years old and £400 over 2 years old. So at up to £1200 a service, is it too much to ask that they get treated with respect?

And a Range Rover annual service is about £400 at coopers in Dunmow

At Virginia my Volvo was looked after by the dealer. I took it there and waited for it. They seemed to hate that I was waiting for it and they’d inevitably ignore any problems I raise. That is until…they wouldn’t change an obviously defective battery on warranty. So I suggested to the boss I tweet about it and cc in Volvos UK & IRL HQ. They soon changed the battery but not only that they went from grunting at me to workshop manager being ridiculously polite and helpful and he even brought me tea and a plate of biscuits every time I visited. If they were delayed doing a repair he’d keep me updated every 10 minutes while being overly apologetic! I found it rather entertaining. The joys of having 4k+ twitter followers

No, I’ve no idea why they follow me either

Does anyone else find that some fitters don’t like it when you tell them what’s wrong? Tell them something like “the UJ’s on it’s way out” and they’ll grunt and try to ignore you.
Our fitter does. Also likes to leave parts in his van…and missed the fact I had a marker light out despite me leaving a note. Clearly the 6 weekly “inspection” doesn’t extend to the lights.
