My bum hole would be winking every time I went over a speed bump with those side skirts.
Looks nice though.
cheers - its the special puddles that cost the money, the ones that seem small but are in fact very deep! if i go into any place the first thing i check out is the tereign…i went to universal containers (or what ever their name is) at irlam recently, it was tipping it down, but you could tell the place was rough, i was watching the other trucks drive in and dissapear into the floor lol, fortunately i couldnt get a box from there so i reversed back out - and then headed to olympic at the other side of town - which is far worse!!! i was waitng for the lift driver to moan about how slow i was going, but he didnt, i think he knew what my repsponse would be
Both as bad as each other terrain wise, but at least at Universal you can have a chat / laugh with the girl in the office, she’s really nice.
At Olympic, you might as well be wearing your haloween costume, you’d get treated the same.

Tbh not a massive daf fan in the sense I don’t find them all that good looking but your one looks spot on, nice all in white clean and as they say less is more looks simple but quite classy if you get what I mean
Amazing what difference a bit off tlc makes ,look forward to seeing it finished off with the chequered plate.
thanks - you hit the nail on the head, this was exactly what i set out to achieve, the less is more approach, not sure when i’ll be doing the chequer plate, but i am hoping to be at peterborough this year so hopefully before then
Is Peterborough good I go to Shepton mallet but heard its moving this year.

Nice looking truck that.
Reminds me of my last truck.
I reckon it may be as low to the ground as mine!?0
i think i saw this truck yesterday - it was originally an et morris was’nt it with an air front axle, i’d love to retro fit an air suspended front axle to mine

Love the daf looks awesome! Whats been done to the yb?
not done a huge amount to the car, tidied the outside up, then put a full 3" stainless exhaust on from turbo to the back along with a hybrid T28 turbo and a stage one ahmed bayhoo chip - which i took the car down to him at romford for him to set up properly, i havent had it on a rolling road since it was done, it should be around 305-310bhp
shuttlespanker:
that’s the sort of thing i am wanting to do with mine, but, it is just getting the time, the inclination and the money to do it
also, somewhere to do it indoors might be a good idea too
looking great mate
time is the killer, followed closely by money, and of course having a mate with some serious tackle helps!! none of this would have been done if i couldnt do it myself, when i was steaming it off i was toying with the idea of putting it back together and sacking it off at one point glad i didnt now though, i’ve had the truck since august 2010, its tested me mentally in that time, especially in the first year, but i think i can say we’re at peace with each other , for now anyway! hang on to the dream - all good things come to those who wait… i’ve been stashing bits and pieces for the last 12 months, the wheels for example came from two scanias that were going for export - so i swapped the inner wheels from each drive axle, they were a right mess but a few evenings in garage with the grinder, sander and polishing mops got them straightened out . its a bit of a balancing act at times when you have two young children and a wife who you dont see all week - as i’m sure you know?

yes mate, i know all too well
i had 5 trucks and 3 trailer to look after at weekends at one point, and a driver who was regularly damaging the truck
now, down to 3 trucks and no trailers, i have a lot more time at weekends

Thats a pretty decent figure without a chip! Are you on passionford, i havnt been on there for years now as im into volvos these days but there were quite a few lorry drivers on there.
Well done on the restoration! Really good to see there is still that great independent spirit that created an independent transport industry in this country. I thought it had pretty much disappeared beneath the weight of “logistics” specialists!
Keep up the good work, and good luck with the business!

Spotted you on the m1 north of Leicester 12 ish pulling a container, am I right
yes mate heading for stoke with a mis fire lol… turns out (after calling at bury st edmunds daf) there’s been a spate of goldstars suffering the same problem after filling up at felixstowe - my fuel filter was proper bunged up!!!
